I keep hearing people say that Siamese cats are mean. I’ve only had one Siamese, who wasn’t mean at all. Every time I mention Siamese Cats in a conversation, they always seem to blurt out "They’re mean!" What is up with that?

I have had my kitteh for about two years now. He is neutered and he is just content to be lazy and sit around. Whenever I sit down he comes up and just sits on my lap, or rubs up on me. Out of all the cats we have ever had he is the most loving.
Just curious if they are all like this.
Also he never purrs.
Yeah I am sure he is siamese, he is just so loving. He talks a little, but no purring.
No, they’re not all like that. Just as with any other cat, they each have their own personalities. I have a full Siamese and a Siamese mix now. They’re both affectionate, but one is more so than the other. I’ve had three other Siamese in the past, and only one of them was a total love sponge, but they all were affectionate. I’m surprised that yours doesn’t purr. Every one I’ve had sounds like a chainsaw when they get going… really loud. They’ve all also been very vocal, with loud voices that have a way of getting your attention. They’re awesome cats, and I wouldn’t have them any other way.

and a girl named "So-So".
Mine are both full booded seal-points.
I used to have a female named Mauddi, she would perch in high places and "talked" alot. She was very pretty and smart.

I went to my friends house recently, and she has three Siamese cats. I expected their fur to be soft, but all of theirs was course. Apparently all Siamese cats are like that, but when I went to my cousin’s house in Peru, their two Siamese cats were extremely soft, and they said they thought all Siamese cats were like that. Were the cats in Peru a special breed, or was it random to have soft fur?
PEDIGREED Siamese cats tend to have very short, smooth coats. What you’re talking about probably aren’t Siamese cats they’re just domestic cats with pointed markings - there’s MILLIONS of them.
Coarse fur in any cat would indicate a poor diet. They’re probably feeding their cat very inferior cat food or perhaps the cats are even living on table scraps.

I have had her for 3 years since she was about four weeks old and now for about a month and a half she won’t let me hold her everybody else she lets them hold her. She’s black and part siamese.
well most people think siamese cats are mean, but its not true. it all depends on how you treat the cat. love her more than the rest of your family members are loving her. she should come around soon.good luck

yesterday a freinds grandmother died and the cat was on its way to the pound, she is now ours, she is "siamese" and we don’t care if she is "pure" or not,very sweet and already gets along with the 2 other dsh cats and mutt-dog. she has brown eyes, aren’t they usually blue??
Yes, but a mix breed siamese is also a wonderfull cat. I have also inherited a siamese mixed with a red tabby, he gets along jsst fine with my female tabby. His eyes are greenish with some blue hue. You did the right thing by taking him in to your home. Siameses are very affectionnate. It probably eases his greif (over his late human) that he found a loving family. You wont regret it. They are the most intelligent cats.
Once he adapts, be prepared for strange behaviours tough…
Siamese are something else all right… That only will make him more endearing to you.

I have a new kitten who is part Siamese, and he has a few features I’ve never noticed in my other run-of-the-mill tabby cats. Can you tell me more about these things?
First of all, he has very few whiskers. They are black/dark brown for about 1/4 an inch and then they are white to the tips. Some seem to have broken off: only the black part is there. He has maybe three intact whiskers on each cheek. Is this normal?
Secondly, and I’ll try to be delicate about this, in addition to his dark ears, nose, tail, and toes, his…um….boy parts are also dark brown. Is this normal, too? It’s kind of funny since I plan to have him fixed. It’s like they are specially marked so the vet can find them.

Some cats have more whiskers then others - its normal.
As far as the privates - that’s normal too. The darker point color (btw you have a Seal Point) is on the "colder" parts of the body, so it would make sense that the testicles would be darker.
Its not so the vet can find them
BTW I know of a black & white cat (mostly white) who had one black and one white testicle!
