I know that my cat (the tan one) "Slinx" is a siamese. My cats are very happy very bratty cats! I love them so much!

Looks like a domestic shorthair. The coloring is called "black tuxedo" for obvious reasons. Our gray tuxedo cat looks a lot like yours and is the coolest cat EVER! Enjoy!

What breed of cat do I have? Pictures included.?

I know she probably isn’t a full breed but I would like to know which family(ies) she belongs too. Can anyone give me any clues?

There are several kitties out there that are flame or red point, including the Siamese, Persian, Himalayan and Ragdolls. Your kitty could be a mix of any of these beautiful cat breeds.

She is absolutely gorgeous. I have two Siamese crosses myself, as well as a Raggie. =)

Oh, if you’re interested, do a google search on "flame point (enter breed here)" and you will find a wealth of photos to help you on your quest.

What is the best dog and cat breed reference book(s) for a vet student?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: cat pictures breeds

My sister is in vet school. She learns a great deal about anatomy and other very detailed information. However, she is getting very little training on the various breeds of dogs and cats. For Christmas I would like to get her some serious breed guide books she can study in her "spare" time. I don’t want a coffee table book or For Dummies version. But I suspect having pictures would be a good thing. Are there any vets out there with good ideas?

I’m not a vet, but, I do read a lot about dogs and cats..
The AKC produces a complete set of breed standards
http://www.akc.org/store/detail/index.cfm
I’m not sure if that would be what you’re looking for.. It’s definitely an official sort of guide..
I personally prefer this one, it covers most of the common breeds

Here’s one the cat fanciers association recommends..

Anyone good at cat breeds?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: cat pictures breeds

I was wondering what cat breed my cat was. Here’s a picture.

Tabby longhair.
Colloquially: A Moggy.
Technically: Domestic longhair.

Luckily for you, Moggies are far less likely to develop genetic diseases than purebreds. Though inherent disease is less common on cat breeds than dog, it is still fairly prevalent due to in-breeding. Your cat should live a longer, more healthy life.

Does this cat look like any particular breed of cat (or a mix of any breeds)?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: cat pictures breeds

I have a stray I found I am reminded of a few breeds. I curious to see if anyone else sees any of them. I am planning to find a home for her. This cat is not her but a spittin’ image so much so if someone told me it was her I would not question it. Even the markings on the legs are the same. I was searching for one of the breeds I felt she resembles and found this picture in google images.

Actually I was not asking what she is I am aware she is just the everyday housecat. I was asking what she resembles. She has a enlongated body that is muscular, big ears and a small face with very pretty honey colored eyes. I was reminded 1st of an Abynissian base on her whole body and later a Snowshoe. If you google Snowshoe you will see how I found this picture. Here’s a real Snowshoe cat:

and a Abyssinian

Neither usually have stripes. Many cat people have fun in engaging what breed their cat looks like. That is much of what my question was about.
I see shelters promoting cats this way here’s an example.

I don’t believe they know for a fact the mix of the cats. Scroll down and click on the "Purebreeds"
They are not purebreeds at all they simply resemble them. I wouldn’t make a flyer that factually said this cat was any purebreed. However, I have found a good home for a pair of cats where I mentioned that the cats resembled Turkish Vans.

They definitely did. A nice 55 year old woman who had just retired adopted them. Her daughter saw the ad and knew her mom wanted to adopt. The adoptive mom drove 100 miles to come get them. I was clear that the were not purebreeds but very beautiful. She sent me pictures twice of them in their new home. Much nicer than the life of outdoor misery and poor health they had before being rescued. The cat I have found is very pretty has wonderful markings and a great purrsonality she will stay with us until I find a perfect home for her I am not in a rush. I have six cats and a dog. The Inn is full! I won’t leave a poor animal in the cold nevertheless

Gorgeous cat:) Although it’s possible that she’s a purebred, it’s more likely that she’s just a domestic, like 95-97% of all cats. Cats that are not 100% purebred are always classified as domestics. Since the cat is a shorthaired cat it would be considered a domestic shorthair.

Does anyone know anything about cat breeds!?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: cat pictures breeds

Okay so I’ve had my cat for a year and people keep asking me his breed and I honestly don’t know
So can someone please tell me what breed he is. Heres some pictures:
I don’t know if this will show up or not so yea….

If it didn’t show up then go to this link

The pictures doesn’t show it, but his tummy is white and he has a carmel colored lining around it. His eyes start *from pupil* as blue, then goes to green, then yellow, then amber. His tail is like as long as he is. Charlie is a ticked kitty (from skin) with the colors of white, gray, and black. But some parts are brown. So yea…can someone tell me his breed!?

That is a garden variety tabby kitty.

Is there a breed of cat that can grow to be as big as dogs?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: cat pictures breeds

i was looking at this cat magazine (no im not a crazy cat lady lol) and there was a section in it that showed pictures of cats that gorw to be as big as like dalmations! it was pretty wierd.

Have you ever heard or seen these cats? if so, what kind of breed are they?

You might be referring to Savannah cats, which are actually illegal in some states because they’re a cross between the domestic housecat and an african wild cat. They don’t become as large as a big dog, but they do become pretty big at up to 40 pounds.

They’re not for everyone!
