Cat-O-Rama

Hi,
We are not going to get a dog now,so why not a cat?
WE will get him at the shelter this year (i don’t know when.).
And I want to go ahead and buy some items.
Our old cat,ranaway sadly 4 years ago,due to a thunder storm.(she was outside,and we left her outside,and we forgot,and then could not find her.)I would also like name ideas too.i always end up creative.
Right now the names I have are,Marie,and carley.
And also,I would love it if you shared,How you got your cat,or you
can tell me some things your family loves you to do,that got you a cat thanks

We might rename him if hes small though?
He will be indoors,UNLESS,He wants to play outside with us.

well we recently had to put our 17yr old cat down. his name was silver. i think i was a great name and im sure you can re-name your cat if you want to . just say his name a lot near him and give him kitty treats if he responds when you say his name. our other cat walnut we got from our backyard :]. she was perfectly healthy little 4 weeks old fur ball with an exception of worms but we got those taken care of.
litter box, cat toys, mabey catnip ;], food dishes and food are good things for kittys. hope i helped :]

I thought of some ideas before, but I forgot what I put. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!

litter box ,litter,scoop,kitten food , toys maybe a toy mouse or a scratching post ,brush , and a lint roller,food and water bowl,nail clippers ,and i love the soft paws that go over the nails so they dont scratch the furniture..hum i think thats it

I live in an apartment complex and my window looks into a mostly fenced in back yard. I installed a window cat door that looks like this: http://www.ktpetsupply.com/cat-supplies-180/cat-doors-233/petsafe-cat-windoor-removable-window-cat-door-1796.html

While my cat enjoys the outdoor opportunity, I worry that thieves could break the cat window sash and get into my place. Anybody know how to best prevent this besides removing the cat door and go back to a regular window

Screw metal "L" Brackets to the top of the window sill and the frame preventing it from opening any further.

What supplies should I buy for a pregnant cat?

Can somebody just give me some information!

Oh and to the person that just said i should spay my cat, uh my cat is spayed. I am fostering cats that are already pregnant from the shelter so they dont get euthanized.

If you have a vet, ask them but here is what I suggest. You don’t really need any "supplies" other than a good quality food with plenty of water to drink daily for the momma cat. When it comes time for her to give birth you will need old towels or blankets, maybe a box. Put these things someplace dry; out of the way of ‘house traffic’; and someplace she will feel comfortable and safe.

is there a website were ican order online or get a catalog(free) that has supplies like hoops, little ladders, ropes, and other misc. items for cats to do tricks like circus tricks in? b/c i am teaching my cat tricks, he already knows how to jump thru a hoop.

i would tell you to check www.petco.com/ but they might not have anything. stuff like this is easy to do it yourself.

hoops : a hula hoop

ladders : wood, nails, saw

ropes : buy a rope and tie a few knots in it

hurdles : wood, nails, saw

i would suggest you make these items yourself, that way you can make things certian heights. i hope you can find what you are looking for, and good job teaching your cats tricks! i have 6 of them, and i can hardly get them to do anything : )

I want to buy a cat-it scratch post and Orijen cat food. Only one store carries them in my area, and I had a fight with the totally insane person who works there /:.(

go on line using the brand’s name & up will pop places to get it. If you don’t see a website for one in Canada, put in "Orijen cat food, Canada"
Canadian sites will come up.
Also, write the manager of this store & let them know your situation. They may have had trouble with this person before & you may be able to continue doing business there…but the store should know!!!!

We don’t have a lot of money. Just wondering where I can get supplies and a vet visit for him.

Do call your local humane society, let them know you have taken in a stray, that you are happy to give him a home, but could use some help in getting set up - sometimes they are able and willing to help with coupons for low-cost neutering - and the times that I have made use of this resource, while I was at the vet, I let the vet know the cat was a stray I had rescued. A lot of times the vets kind of snuck in some extras like shots or meds for things like ear mites and conjunctivitis for free to help get us started - so we would get $100+ worth of vet. care for $40-50.
