why does my cat put her toys in her water bowl or the toilet?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: cat toys

cat toys aren’t cheap, and we now keep the lid down on the toilet… but I have to leave water out for her… what the heck is she doing??

My cat is the same! She is part siamese, even though she looks nothing like it. She meows and talks to people (one of the traits of siamese) and always messes with water. She pushes over glasses and puts things in the toilet to watch the ripples. This is probably why!

How do I teach my puppy that the cat’s toys are off limit??

Posted by: admin  :  Category: cat toys

I have a terrier puppy who just turned a year old. She is well behaved to be so young, except when it comes to my cats toys. My cats love those little furry mice and if Katy finds one she tears it to pieces She has also torn up a ball that was my cats. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can teach her that those toys are off limits? She has plenty of chew and squeaky toys, so that’s not the the problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Also, how do I teach her to let me know when she needs to go potty. Right now, the only way I know is when she starts pacing around the house and I let her out. I wished she would paw at the door or bark or something. Any suggestions on how to train her to let me know?

Hi. I have been in the dog training/caring/teaching for roughly three years. I see dogs with the same problems every day. Toys are a big issue.
When the puppy takes a toy, simply put your hand on it’s mouth and take the cat toy out. Replace it with one of the puppy’s toys, and make sure you put the other toy back in a safe place.

Do this every time the puppy takes the toy away, and soon he/she will realize that taking the cats toys are not an option.

When the puppy has to go to the bathroom, and you notice, take her to the door, and just sit there.

Soon, she will begin to scratch on the door. This may take time for her to learn this method, but everytime she has to use the bathroom, lead her to the door, and she’ll either wine, scrath, ect. Just keep trying and good luck!

I Hope you have fun with your pup, and if you have anymore questions, let me know! Have fun with the puppy, and remember, you have to be patient with it, because it takes a lot longer for theem to learn then you!

Can hamsters play with cat toys?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: cat toys

my mom bout toys for her hegehog and (cat toys) and I got a toy too and was woundering if they can play with it or not.

Sure why not I give my rabbit, birds toys to play with. She loves it, I also give her the cat and dogs toys as well. You just have to be careful which ones you buy cause you don’t want them to swallow any of the the parts the chew off.

Does anyone else love to buy cat toys?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: cat toys

I love to surprise my 2 cats with new little toys every now and then (which most of the time they just love!). Do others like to do this too or is it just me? Thanks for your answers!

Absolutely! But they usually loose the jingle balls within the first 5 minutes, never to be seen again until we re-arrange the furniture!

Cat Nip Toys causes female cats to go in heat?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: cat toys

I find that cat nip toys always put my female cat in to heat. When she does not have one for a good few months she doesn’t go in to heat for along time until she gets another toy. Does anyone have this too with their cat? Must be the cat nip that triggers her going in heat.

Yes I have found this too. However unless you are a registered breeder I would get her spayed. As cats are extremely clever and will find a way out of your house.

Why does male cat pee in cat toys?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: cat toys

I have a one year old tabby siamese and two year old blond tabby, both inside cats males. The tabby siamese pees on a cat toy, on the tv remote control and in bathroom sink. Both cats are fixed. He pees in the bathroom sink when I am on the toilet. Since we have two new litter boxes that are cleaned, I don’t understand why he picks certain things to pee on. Only happened once for remote and cat toys, but he pees in bathroom sink about once a week.

Sometimes when a fixed cat urinates in places he/she shouldn’t it’s a sign that they may have a UTI. It’s their way of saying ”’hey pay attention, something isn’t right!" My cat used to do that I took him to the vet he had a UTI and now eats special food otherwise he gets them again.

What are some good cat toys?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: cat toys

My cat seems bored and is getting into alot of mischief.
He has some rolley balls that jingle and cat nip in little baggies. But he seems bored with his toys. What does your cat like to play with?

If you don’t already have a cat tree, I highly recommend buying or building one. Cats have an instinctive need to climb. My cat LOVE climbing around and playing on their cat trees.

Their favorite toys now that they’re older seem to be interactive toys - a laser pointer, ‘da bird’ http://www.go-cat.com/order.htm , a long shoestring, a tape measure - anything with me on the other end making it seem lifelike.

My cats enjoy exploring and lurking: Empty boxes and paper bags (no handles - if they have handles, cut them off) are great fun for them.

For batting around, they seem to mostly prefer lightweight things - some toys they like include soft fluffy lightweight balls (stored in a bag with catnip to make them smell good), a small crinkled-up ball of paper, pen caps, milk jug rings, straws, little furry toy mice, Rosie Rat http://www.thecatconnection.com/page/TCC/PROD/TYS-MICE/TYS-0885 ,a small toy mouse that squeaks http://www.arcatapet.com/item.cfm?cat=6837 , a Wooley Bully mouse http://www.cattoys.com/wooleybully.html , and a yeowww catnip cigar http://www.thecatconnection.com/page/TCC/PROD/SALE/YEOW-6949 (the longest-lasting catnip toy I’ve ever found, and I’ve been buying them catnip toys for years - that Yeoww catnip must be STRONG!).

Some male cats like to wrestle - one of my boy cats loves to tackle & kick his giant fur rat toy (I can’t find a link, though). A new, clean wooly paint roller or furry stuffed animal with catnip on it would make a good ’snuggle & kick’ toy. If your cat doesn’t react to catnip, you might try honeysuckle: http://www.thecatconnection.com/page/TCC/CTGY/TYS-HON

There are also kitty puzzle toys -I haven’t tried this one with my cats yet, but it looks like they might like it: http://www.thecatconnection.com/page/TCC/PROD/TYS-INTERACT/TYS-5822

You might try a treat toy, to keep him busy: http://www.cattoys.com/treattoys1.html
