how do i make her hair not come off the bed w/o movin her b/c she is sound asleep?
yeah i brush her everyday but she doesn’t like it. her hair is so long we clip it shorter in the summer since she gets really hot & pants like a dog. she also sheds a lot too. we feed her raw food. is that a good diet?
the fleece idea is good. she has a fleece "hiding" cat condo bed, but she only plays in it. she likes my bed for some reason even though she isnt supposed to be upstairs. she also likes to lie on top of the central air vent to keep her cool.
Well OF COURSE your Persian doesn’t like being brushed - because a Persian should NEVER be brushed! Brushes pull out and break top coat hairs and do little to remove the loose hairs of the undercoat. You should be COMBING your cat with a good quality steel-toothed comb and doing so at least every other day all year long. A comb gently removes the loose, dead hair of the undercoat and leaves the top coat intact.
The more you comb your cat, the more loose fur you’ll get out of her coat and the less she’ll shed on your bedding and clothing. I have a Persian and the only hair I see in my home is from my dog.
You’re not doing your cat any favours shaving her for summer. A cat’s fur insulates it from both heat and cold. So my removing her fur you’re actually make him MORE susceptible to overheating.
Raw food is only good if you’re feeding a PROPER raw food diet. Feeding cats raws is more than just giving them meat as there’s certain supplements and minerals added into commercial cat foods that cats need. Bone meal, for example. I also hope you’re feeding your cat chicken or turkey - not fish - which is actually very unhealthy for cats. You can also try a commercially prepared raw diet. Nature’s Variety has an excellent Organic Chicken that you buy as frozen medallions that you just thaw for a few seconds in the microwave and serve.

My Exotic Shorthair’s Red and White Classic Tabby and I adopted her around Halloween so wanted a Halloween-ish name. Her full name - "Penelope Princess Pumpkin". And her little tongue sometimes sticks out, too - especially when she’s passed out sleeping.

I do hope you know how high maintenance Persians can be. You can’t brush the coat - it needs to be COMBED. And it needs to be combed at least EVERY OTHER DAY ALL YEAR LONG or the coat will mat. If you want a pure bred persian kitten, don’t use the internet. Talk to a local vet or animal shelter, they may have records of breeders, or you can contact one of the various orginazations that take care of animals.

whenever she eats her meal and after 3-4 hours she is vomitting. whats the cause of her vomitting i only feed her whiskas wet food. can you give me a pattern meal of your kittens or cat how many times should i feed her in 1 day? THANKS GUYS.
When I hear Persian I think fur. Is she showing any signs of hair balls — gagging up or passing wads of fur, coughing a lot. Do you brush her or give her anything for hairballs like Laxatone or hairball treats? Maybe that would help?
How much does she eat at a sitting? My cat eats maybe 1/4 can wet food morning and evening, sometimes less, then grazes throughout the day on dry food.
How is her energy? Is she feverish or tired all the time?
Vet can rule out worms or something else.

She is 14 years old and lives with my Mom as I got married 3 years ago. SHE GOES to the bathroom ON THE CARPET. She has for about a year. Vet says nothing medically wrong she could see. I have twin daughters now who are one and the smell at my Moms house is NEVER going away. She cleans carpets, lysols, scrubs, burns candles….. I LOVE being at "home" but the smell makes it emberassing and GROSS.
Anyway……..I have researched here and 2 products came up……….PetZyme and Natures Miricle. I am skeptical about any product. The area is HEAVILY soiled. Like I said she cleans her carpets weekly. SOOOOOOOOO if you have tried a product and it REALLY works for HEAVILY soiled cat urine stains…….PLEASE help. I am desperate and my Mom is miserable. Also, do you reccomend a black light and even though my Mom cleans it, is it dangerous for my 1 year old twins?? ANY input will be appriciated. Serious answers only please. Thanks

To solve the cat from going to the bathroom on the carpet, really the only thing you can do is to try to catch her in the act. But because of her age, she might be too set in her ways and not change.
If it becomes too much of a problem I would try to get a second opinion in case it is something hidden. Also it might just not like where her litterbox is or what litter you use.
Honestly, all you can do is eliminate the odor and try to retrain her to use the box.
I knew someone who’s cat was having problems, but none of the vets could find anything wrong until the person researched the symptoms on the internet and told the vet what they found.
So that might be another option.
