ragdoll cats
My sister said that Ragdoll cats are very rare but I know a lot of people that have them. How rare are they exactly?
And how many cat years are there to one human year?
no Ragdolls are actually pretty common purebreds.
I heard it’s 7 years to every one human year basically

ragdoll cats
i’ve noticed that they’re, well, gigantic and i was wondering, due to their weight, if they still can jump high and can run
Oh, yes, they can, though they need a bigger landing pad.
>ost of the time, though, they’re cuddlers, preferring a warm spot next to their favorite humans to high places. Unless there are strange dogs around…

ragdoll cats
I have a 1 year old son and in the near future wanted a cat. The breed i was considering was a ragdoll but are they a suitable pet with my son? I dont want the kitten or my son to get hurt. Obviously.
Do cats and young children go together?
Yes, cats and younger children can go together if you have a friendly and patient cat. I used to have 2 ragdolls, one was a boy, his name was Rohan and the other was a girl her name was Lillian.
I found Lillian to be much more friendly with my son Jacob than Rohan was but they were both nice. I recomend a female ragdoll that is at least 3 years old. Kittens or young cats tend to bite and be impatient.
Hope I helped!

I currently have a 10 month old male Persian. Next weekend, I’m picking up my 3 month old male Himalayan from my breeder. If I would get a third cat within the next year I am considering another Himalayan/Persian or a Ragdoll. Would a Ragdoll cat be a compatible personality with my two boys or should I stick to the Persian/Himalayan breed? Thank you!
We have had 6 ragdoll cats over the years and they have always gotten along with other cats - especially the males. The males are easy going cats and adapt to a routine quickly. For the most part, male cats no matter what species, get along pretty well. Hope this helps and what a lucky person you are to have such beautiful breeds of cats.

ragdoll cats
Hey, I’ve been planning on getting a ragdoll for quite a long time now.
& I was wondering if they hunt? i know those are cat instincts but i’m not sure about the ragdoll.
Thanks!
please reply if you have a ragdoll cat who hunts.
Thanks so much!
Yes, ragdoll cats do hunt, as it comes naturally. They are a very energy filled breed also. I don’t have a ragdoll cat, but I do have a book that tells you every breed and their personality traits, origins, etc.

A fair bit, since I did TONS of research when we got one. Ragdolls are cousins to Siamese, but really only have their colouring patterns and blue eyes, and the face structure. What makes them called a Ragdoll is that they go limp when you pick them up - it’s really strange. They just flop all over the place - not like they have a neurological problem or anything, it’s part of their charm. If you walk by one, it will fall over and probably roll on her back. If you throw a wadded up tissue at one, it will "knock" her over - really strange, but FUN.
Ragdolls cannot be outdoor cats at ALL because they have no fear out there. If they were walking across the street and a car was coming, they would just lay down on the road, they wouldn’t run to the side. The HAVE to be indoor cats. Their fur is incredibly soft, really like bunny fur. In fact, we call ours our bunny a lot of the time, because of that. Her back is a fawn colour, so with the long hair it is really beautiful. She has a white tummy and legs, dark tail, ears and middle of face, like a mask. Interestingly, she was born all white.
Ours is not a purebred; where I live those cost about $800CDN. Both parents were tabbies - he was a HUGE black and white cat, she was just a pretty mixed colour tabby. One kitten was this Ragdoll, another was a Snowshoe Lynx, the others were tabbies.
The good part about her not being purebread is that she has a regular cat-shaped head, with fur fluffed out just like a regular cat. Not a pinched skinny head like a Siamese, which the purebreds have.
We absolutely adore her. She is not only beautiful, she has been fun to have, very entertaining, and is absolutely wonderful. We have ALWAYS had more than one cat at the same time, but with her, she’s a handful so we have not gotten another cat. (just an aside, our cat doesn’t meow, but that has nothing to do with her being a Ragdoll cat).

Is this true?
I have a ragdoll cat and she sheds like crazy. I’m guessing she’s not a purebred.
Ragdolls have long hair - they do shed. And its shedding season so most cats would be shedding out the winter coat. Try combing your cat every other day for a few weeks.
